05:02 pm - Movies and the like (Movieholic?? Heh)
OK, with the 'Four Movies' question meme thingy below, I have had a horrible thought that there are movies I have not seen and MUST, and there are movies I simply CANNOT ever give up because I love them.

This year I have been introduced to the delights of the music of All About Eve (thanks Wez) as I had not even heard Martha's flipping Harbour, the music of Kate Bush (thanks James) and also the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd (thanks Jester). Hmm. 2005 was clearly the year of the music... let 2006 be the Year of the Movie.

Here are mine, but do tell me yours.

Those I could never give up, as I LOVE them:

Hair
Dangerous Liaisons
Secretary
Edward Scissorhands
Still Crazy
Don Juan de Marco
The Crow
Dead Poets Society
Plunkett and Macleane
The Nightmare before Christmas (thanks malkav's_child for that one)
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Velvet Goldmine
Sleepy Hollow
A Knights Tale
Dogma
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Chicago

Those I have not seen, but MUST for various reasons, usually recommendations:

Truly, Madly, Deeply
The Mask of Zorro
The Man in the Iron Mask
The Pillow Book

If you have any recommendations for me, please tell me some - I have a feeling I am going to be needing them. :)
Current Mood: lonelylonely
Current Music: still James Blunt :)

Carnaaki would be the best person to answer this, but here's my 2p on the subject of films you SHOULD have seen, but aren't on your list.

Aliens - Best. LARP. Film. EVER. Ignore the guns and spaceships, we're talking mood here. THAT'S what being a player at any event should be like!

From Dusk Till Dawn - Cool violence, ultra sexy soundtrack and Selma Hayek as a stripper. Oh yeah, for the ladies there is Clooney. Which is why it's my mother's favourite film (no, I'm not kidding, it actually is)

Oh yeah, see King Kong while it's on the cinema. It's rather spiffing.
